
I. Overview
PLC control cabinets (programmable logic controllers) are generally used in wastewater treatment control cabinets, fan control cabinets, constant pressure water supply cabinets, and water pump control cabinets. They are automated control devices integrating a PLC, industrial panel PC, and electrical control circuits. They are characterized by their compact structure, stable operation, and comprehensive functions. They can be combined according to the actual control scale to achieve single-cabinet automatic control or multiple cabinets forming a distributed control (DSC) system via industrial Ethernet or industrial fieldbus networks. PLC control cabinets are adaptable to various sizes of industrial automation control applications and are now widely used in industries such as power, metallurgy, chemical, papermaking, and environmental wastewater treatment.
The PLC in the PLC control cabinet uses a Siemens PLC, the panel PC uses an MCGS industrial panel PC, and the electrical control circuits use Siemens or Schneider Electric devices.
The PLC control cabinet has front and rear doors; the front door is a single door, and the rear door is a double door. A voltmeter, ammeter, panel PC, control buttons, and indicator lights are installed on the front door panel. The cabinet has two galvanized mounting plates in the center, front and rear. The front mounting plate houses the PLC, signal isolation transmitter, intermediate control relays, and control signal input/output terminals. The rear mounting plate houses the circuit breakers, AC contactors, thermal relays, and electrical output terminals used in the electrical control circuits.
The PLC control cabinet uses a three-phase five-wire power supply, with a maximum installed capacity of 280KW per cabinet. A transient voltage absorber is installed between the power input line and the equipment grounding to effectively prevent damage from lightning strikes.
A single PLC control cabinet can control up to 32 electrical circuits.
A single PLC control cabinet can accommodate up to 16 channels of 4-20mA analog inputs, 96 channels of digital inputs, 4 channels of 4-20mA analog outputs, and 32 channels of digital outputs.
The PLC control cabinet has "automatic, stop, and manual" selection functions. When the "automatic" function is selected, the system automatically controls the corresponding electrical circuit according to the set parameters and program. When the "stop" function is selected, the system forcibly stops the corresponding control circuit. When "Manual" power is selected, the corresponding control loop can be directly activated.
The industrial panel PC used in the PLC control cabinet not only possesses the functions of a general industrial control computer, but also boasts advantages such as small size and ease of use. It utilizes the Windows CE system, making it resistant to virus infection. The panel PC primarily handles parameter settings for the control cabinet and monitors the operation of the controlled electrical equipment in real-time using dynamic graphics, issuing fault alarms for any abnormalities.
The LCD screen of the panel PC displays real-time dynamic graphics of the controlled electrical equipment's operation. Normal operation is indicated by green; stopping by red. When an alarm is triggered due to equipment malfunction, alternating yellow and red flashes are observed, accompanied by an alarm sound.
The industrial panel PC used in the PLC control cabinet provides users with powerful data management functions. It offers daily reports, database browsing, and control data trend browsing capabilities. Users can easily view system control data and equipment operation status at any time.
The industrial panel PC used in the PLC control cabinet features automatic power-on and power-off functions, requiring no personnel on-site.
The PLC control cabinet has two RS485 communication interfaces and one RJ45 TCP/IP interface. In larger control systems, multiple PLC control cabinets can be connected into a distributed control system (DCS) via the RS485 interface and industrial fieldbus protocol, or via the RJ45 interface and industrial Ethernet TCP/IP protocol.
The PLC control cabinet is made of carbon steel with a cabinet plate thickness of 1.5mm and front and rear door panel thickness of 2mm. The cabinet surface is treated with anti-oxidation powder coating, and the protection rating is IP56. Cabinet dimensions: 2000X900X700 (HXWXD). Custom sizes are available upon request.
